Amara Account Development Associate
Amara is seeking creative, research-driven individuals to help execute a client development strategy. Account Development Associates will help in expanding the user base of our Enterprise platform. This will grow a sustainability program that supports Amara’s mission of building a more inclusive, collaborative world.
Amara Enterprise provides tools for organizations to caption and translate video on a large scale. The platform is used by a number of highly-visible organizations like TED, California Academy of Sciences, and Scientific American.
Areas of Focus
Client development and client care: Assist with client development campaigns to identify and secure opportunities with new clients. This involves gaining expertise with the Amara Enterprise platform offerings, and working with organizations to address their video accessibility and localization needs.
Market research: Review existing client verticals and characteristics. Explore appropriate new verticals, based on existing client needs and trends in the translation space. Identify areas in the localization, translation, and subtitling space where Amara can make the biggest impact.

- Part-time: 8-10 hours/week (remote), USA daytime hours
- Compensation is dependent on experience and skill set

Skills, Traits, and Abilities:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills

- Pursuing a degree in marketing, communication, public relations, or related field
- Preferred 1+ year(s) experience in customer-facing role
While internet video has exploded, language is still a significant barrier to education, economic opportunity, political participation, and other areas of cultural life. Amara connects millions of people to help break down these barriers and allows hundreds of organizations to make their content more accessible through innovative technology.
Amara is a project of the Participatory Culture Foundation (PCF), a nonprofit 501c3. We are driven by our mission to foster a media ecosystem that enables everyone to benefit from online video content. Content that can enrich lives, but is not currently available to those who cannot hear or understand the language of the video. We believe a participatory and inclusive world leads to a more understanding and caring society.
PCF develops technology and services that ensure everyone has access to all that the internet has to offer. From the abundance of free education available, to gaining insights about the many different cultures around the globe, information is critical to building a more equitable and peaceful society.
How We Work
Amara and PCF is based out of Massachusetts, but the team is global and works virtually. You’ll be collaborating with a talented and passionate team striving to make positive social impact.
The team uses chat and video apps (Skype, Slack, Google Hangouts) as well as email for internal communication.
